CAMRA researchers at the University of Technology, Sydney, are working with project partners Albury City, City of Wodonga and Murray Arts in this region.
The Twin Cities: a cultural Profile
Albury-Wodonga has a vibrant arts and cultural sector, much of which is conducted in a cross-border fashion. The Albury Regional Art Gallery houses one of Australia's finest photographic collections and the twin cities are home to Hothouse Theatre and the famous Flying Fruit Fly Circus. The region has been dubbed 'The Murray Food Bowl' and there are numerous restaurants and wineries in the area.
Questions for Cultural Mapping
As a growing, major, inland regional manufacturing, transport and government services centre, the CAMRA team are interested in examining how a skilled workforce accesses and engages with local cultural activities. Other important local issues include integrating silos of information, niche cultural tourism markets and mapping uniquely local creative enterprises in the cities.
