Local government bodies endorse support for CAMRA & Empty Spaces projects

The Local Government Association and Shires Association of NSW executive have endorsed the following roles in the CAMRA and Empty spaces partnership:
1. That the Associations collaborate with the CAMRA project to review and adapt the research methodologies trialled in the pilot regions into cultural planning research tools for use by local government and regional arts agencies for cultural planning.
2. That the Associations encourage councils to support establishment of temporary creative places in vacant commercial spaces in their local area.
3. That the Associations collaborate with the Empty Spaces project to develop a practical resource for councils, addressing the various roles and approaches councils can take to support development of temporary creative places in vacant commercial spaces and a workshop model for councils to determine how they with design and manage their process.
4. That the Associations collaborate with the Empty Spaces project to develop a resource for those establishing temporary creative places in vacant commercial spaces, on how to work with their council and the various roles councils can play to support the initiative.
5. That the Associations utilise the CultureMap website managed by the CAMRA project as a means to share and develop capacity building resources.
